I'm so glad you posted this because you just solved another problem I had. I did not have the chance to test older driver versions as they are no longer available from the Intel website. I tested with and without Aero, different 3D and bit depth settings, with all the same result. (The Vista drivers recover for a couple of times, then the computer freezes with a blank screen.) Setting "_Exefile.exe" to "1" in the registry was the only way to play it on a decent level, reaching 20-30 fps on a C2D T7300. EVE Online - similar to many other games - is practically unplayable on the GMA X3100, with fps generally under 10.
